Ann Van Nort's Story

Picture
Ann Van Nort, a retired educator, seriously injured her back by falling down a flight of stairs in her home this past May.  As a result of the fall, she is paralyzed from her mid-torso down.  She enjoyed running and triathlons before her accident.

Ann was an excellent, caring teacher who spent her early years as a librarian in the Perkins district and the rest of her career as an eighth grade math and district math coach at Sandusky City Schools.  She was
much loved by her students and their parents.

Ann has a long, long road to recovery ahead of her and will need our help to regain her independence. Now our community has an opportunity to express their appreciation and support to Ann.  Ann’s present condition will require many changes in her life.  We hope to provide some of the things she will need - wheel chair(s?), assistive technologies, a wheel chair accessible van, possible home renovations and help with medical bills.

Please help us provide the funds to get Ann "up and rolling" on her own again. Fundraising events for Ann will be updated on this website as they are planned.  If you wish to make a contribution to "Ann's Road To Recovery", simply mail a check made payable to ANN VAN NORT REHAB FUND to
